If you enjoy watching Latin dance, here’s a free treat for you the Festival Quartiers Danses:
From Friday, September 16, to Sunday, September 25, 2011, Quartiers Danses will present 38 choreographers, 50 performances and events in nine indoor and six outdoor venues spread out around the city in six different neighborhoods. Our program this year will also include a screening of films on dance by four Canadian directors about four choreographers who are taking part in the festival, as well as three photo exhibits on the previous edition of Quartiers Danses.
There will also be:
A showing at the NFB featuring height short films about dance on the work of Jane Mappin by Michael Slobodian, Françoise Sullivan by Mario Côté, Sarah Williams & Marie Brassard and Sonya Stefan, Yves Saint-Pierre & Sylvain Poirier / Bande Interdite.
Three photo exhibits by Montreal photographer Michel Pinault on the last edition of the festival.
