After You Move, ReStore

A little while back we wrote about the re-opening of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. With this being not just festival season in Montreal but also for many of us moving season, we felt another mention of ReStore might be timely.

As mentioned when we visited, anyone feeling the need to do some repairs around the house or apartment, or even if you are just shopping for some new drapes or lamps (or even appliances!) then a visit to ReStore should be your first stop. In addition to the savings of easily 50% or more off of buying new, there is no tax added to the prices at the till, and fresh merchandise is received daily.

The materials found on the shelves of ReStore are all donated by homeowners and businesses and consist of some “gently used” supplies as well as brand new materials from building projects and overstocked home reno store shelves.

These items are donated to ReStore not just to avoid ending up as landfill, but also to support the Habitat for Humanity Montreal foundation – an organization which partners with low-income families, volunteers, local businesses and donors to construct simple, decent and affordable homes.

The Montreal ReStore center is located at 4399 Notre Dame W., or call 514-907-8991. Hours are Tuesday & Wednesday, 9:30 AM to 6 PM, Thursday & Friday 9:30 Am to 7 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM and closed on Sunday and Monday.
