• Halloween on Ice… and other parties!

    It’s the end of October and for many Montreal-area boroughs, that means the annual “Halloween on Ice” parties. Ice-skating, costumes, music and games are typical of what to expect, so check out this year’s listings and see if there’s a fun ice party near you, (remember your skating helmets).

    Those boroughs that don’t have municipal ice arenas, or are just into something a little spookier, tend to have Halloween parties and haunted houses. We’ve listed a bunch that look fun below.

    *Pointe ClaireHalloween party, Barbeque, inflatables, face painting & more. October 29, 11:00 – 15:00 @ Arthur Séguin Chalet. FREE.

    *Westmount: Westmount Public Library at night! Decorate a pumpkin at home (no carving please) and bring it to the Library between October 1 and October 28 for our annual pumpkin decorating contest. Join us after hours on Saturday, October 29 for magical night! FREE.

    *Laval: Halloween on ice, Come dressed in costume for candies and surprises. October 30, 12:30 – 14:00 @ Lucerne Arena. FREE.

    *Sainte Anne de Bellevue: Haunted House, October 31, 17:30 – 21:00 @ Parc Aumais. FREE.

    *Montreal West: Halloween on ice, Get dressed up in your costume and come skate on the ice at the arena!  There will be arts and crafts and face painting as well. October 30, 13:00 – 14:30 @ the Arena. FREE.

    *Kirkland: Halloween on ice, October 29, 19:00 – 20:15 @ Kirkland arena. FREE.

    *Dorval: Halloween on ice, Dress up in your favourite costume! There will be prizes for the best costumes and candy for all. October 30, 14:00 – 15:45 @ Westwood Sports Centre. $1.

    *Hampstead: Haunted House, October 31, 17:30 – 20:00 @ Irving Adessky Community Center. FREE.

    *Dollard: Halloween on ice, Activities, scary stories, haunted locker rooms! October 29, 18:30 – 20:30 @ Civic Center Arena. $1 with costume /$2 without.

    *Cote St. Luc: Halloween on ice, October 30, 13:45 – 16:15 @ Samuel Moscovitch Arena. FREE (with costume).

    *Marche St. Anne: Halloween Market, Costumes, pumpkins, music, food, last day for the outdoor market. October 29. FREE.

    *Ecomuseum: Halloween at the Zoo, Enjoy our zoologists’ special presentations. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the animals receive their Halloween treats. October 29 & 30, 9:00 – 17:00 . Regular admission fees.

    *Morgan Arboretum: Haunted Forest, Come in costume and walk the Orange trail and collect candy along the way from creatures of the forest. Those who dare are invited to enter Chalet Pruche which transforms into a haunted house every year around Halloween. October 29, 16:00 – 22:00. $5.75 / person.

    *ZOMBIE WALK, From Place des Arts west to McGill College and then back to Place des Arts. October 29, Walk starts at 16:00, the fun starts at noon.
