    Montreal is a city that loves to have fun, and any excuse will do. That spirit is not dampened by the snow, slush or sub-zero temperatures.

    Below is our directory of family fun in the city as winter blows into town.

    Centre-Ville Santa Parade – Nov. 19, 11 AM
    On Saturday, November 19, 2016, starting at 11:00 a.m., the Santa Claus parade will amaze, tickle the senses, bring back precious childhood memories for some and create keepsakes for others, in a unique ambiance all along the way. The Santa Claus parade gives the opportunity to children, teenagers and parents to relive the joys surrounding the preparations of that magical celebration. In that spirit, the crowd will feverishly attend to welcome Santa Claus with immense joy.

    Complexe Desjardins Santa’s Kingdom – Nov. 19 to Dec. 31
    This year, complexe Desjardins will once again be home to Santa’s Kingdom, where a variety of fun animations and activities will take place. The miniature train and carousel will be back & new activities we also welcome: the Yoopa movie theatre and Tout-petits game zone, for toddlers.

    Pointe Claire Tree Lighting – Nov. 26, 1 – 5pm
    A number of activities will be offered, such as calèche rides, inflatable games, a choir performance and a fire show. Hot chocolate will also be available to warm you up so you can fully enjoy this event. “The activities will conclude with the lighting of the Christmas tree at the corner of Sainte-Anne Avenue and Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road at 5 p.m.,” says Mayor Trudeau.

    Nutcracker Market – Nov. 26 to Dec. 6
    Over 60,000 visitors are expected to visit this gift hunter’s paradise! In so doing, they are helping a good cause: 10% of the merchant’s pre-tax sales and all revenues earned by Les Grands Ballets during the market will go to The Nutcracker Fund for Children.

    Montreal en Fete – Dec. 1 – Jan. 1
    Tourist magnet during the holidays, Merry Montreal, through its programming, free activities, length and originality is becoming the leader of wintery events in Canada. Presented in the Old Montreal and the Old Port, the event enjoys a beautiful atmosphere to offer free activities to kids, adults and families in order to spark the Christmas magic in all of us.

    St. Hubert Santa Parade – Dec. 2, 7 PM
    Friday, December 2nd 2016, enjoy Christmas time on the Plaza with the annual parade that will includes floats, fanfares, dance academies and colored characters. The parade, presented by Caisse Desjardins De Lorimier-Villeray, will start at 7pm corner Bellechasse and should end reach Jean-Talon by 8:30pm.

    Grande Marche de Noël – Dec. 2 – 24
    Activities for everyone, day and night. Visit our spectacular village and wander in our enchanted forest. Spend happy hour in our buvettes, gourmet stands and circus tents. Go on adventures in our various attractions for the whole family. Visit the North Pole and discover The Real Santa’s cabin and the Elves workshop. Let the festive magic of Christmastime enchant the child in you.

    Marche de Noël aux flambeaux – Dec. 3, 7 PM
    La Marche de Noël aux flambeaux ne cesse de gagner en popularité chaque année. Plus de douze mille personnes y ont participé l’année dernière La Marche de Noël  aux flambeaux prendra son départ à 19 h pile au parc des Compagnons-de-Saint-Laurent (angle Mont-Royal/Cartier) pour emprunter l’avenue du Mont-Royal vers l’ouest, puis de La Roche jusqu’au parc La Fontaine. Les marcheurs, accompagnés de sept chorales et de personnages fantastiques, pourront chanter les airs de Noël, en portant fièrement leur flambeau.

    Noel dans le Parc – Dec. 1 to 25
    Je vous invite chaleureusement à vivre la magie de Noël dans nos trois villages créés de toute pièce à la manière d’antan par l’équipe de l’Auguste Théâtre en plein cœur de la ville. Ainsi, durant tout le mois de décembre, le parc Lahaie, le parc des Compagnons de Saint-Laurent et la place Émilie-Gamelin (notre nouveau site), se métamorphoseront en lieu de divertissement et de plaisirs  hivernaux pour toute la famille.

    Noel sur l’Avenue – Dec. 3 to 31
    Noël sur l’Avenue invite le public à célébrer le temps des fêtes dans l’authenticité et la créativité en participant aux différentes activités qui se dérouleront du 3 au 31 décembre prochain. Avenue Mont-Royal.
