• Obscura Day

ON MAY 6 – A hallowed day is nearly upon us: Obscura Day on Saturday, May 6. Think of it like a worldwide quest to discover all things odd and remarkable. The whole thing was dreamed up by the surveyors and spelunkers at Atlas Obscura.

This Obscura Day, why not get a tan while you’re in the basement, with this special guided tour of Concordia University’s solar simulator.

Concordia’s large-scale solar simulator is designed to reproduce natural sunlight in order to test various solar systems like solar panels, photovoltaic modules, solar air collectors, solar water collectors and a range of building-integrated solar systems. It enables accurate and repeatable testing of solar systems and advanced building envelopes under standard test conditions with full simulated sun and indoor plus outdoor conditions. It’s the only university lab where you can get a tan while designing sustainable energy systems!
