• Avudo is a Magical 30 Minutes

The saying that “You get what you pay for” is almost always a fact, but in the case of Avudo, it couldn’t be further from the truth.

The audio-visual spectacle playing down at Prince Edward Quay from May 17 to September 2nd is free to attend, though you must book seats through Ticketpro. At this point almost all the center seats are booked throughout the season, but don’t worry about picking up those distant edge seats; you’ll want to stand in front along the rail of the quay for the best view anyway. Get there with time to spare.

The show itself is a condensed trip through the history of Montreal, from settlement to city. With still images as well as live action clips played against solid backdrops and backlit fountains, this show can best be described with words such as spectral, magical, amusing, ethereal and captivating. Solid cheers go out to the city and the composers to broadcast the show in both English and French.

Because of the unique nature of Avudo we decided that publishing any video of the performance would diminish and misrepresent it. You really just have to go down and enjoy it live. However, we hope that the photos below will encourage you to do so.
