• Dansons Montréal

    ON SEPT. 30 – Traditional dance and electronic music lovers are invited to participate in Dansons Montréal, an unparalleled activity at the Journées de la culture and the official program of the 375th anniversary of Montreal! Presented by Place des Arts in collaboration with Culture pour tous, this festive event invites all citizens to celebrate culture. Animated by the dynamic Gardy Fury, this large participative project will take place on the Esplanade of Place des Arts.

    Participative show, Dansons Montréal will allow the public to discover ten Montreal troops of all origins who will present an anthology of traditional dances from their respective countries. Spectators can also learn a choreographic sequence about the traditional music of each group. These songs will then be remixed by the DJ and composer Jan Pienkowski, inviting everyone to enter the dance! Family and recreational activities will be held in the outskirts of Dansons Montréal.
    The troops are Mi Viejo San Simon Canada (Bolivia), Rancho Folclórico Praias de Portugal (Portugal), La R’voyure (Québec), Hungarian Folklore Ensemble Bokréta (Hungary), Ensemble Balgari folklore The Knights of Lebanon (Lebanon), the Ballet Raices of Colombia (Colombia), The Notes of the body (Haiti), Les Gafieiristes (Brazil) and Rapetipetam (Cadence Dance – Quebec).
