• GUEPE Nature Outings

    ON JAN. 13 & 14 – This weekend, the fine folks at GUEPE (Groupe uni des éducateurs et professionels en environnement) want you to join them to learn about nature. Activities may be held in French.

    Jan. 13 – Step by Step in the Night

    Low-cost activity from 6:45pm to 9:00pm at the Parc-nature du Bois-de-Liesse, 3555 rue Douglas-B.-Floreani, H4S 1Y6

    Search for signs of the animals that inhabit the park during a night hike. A GUEPE educator-naturalist will accompany you to locate these clues and to try to observe some of these active animals during the night.

    Go to the reception area of the Champs de Bois-de-Liesse Nature Park.

    Jan. 14 – A Lake Under Ice

    Free activity without registration from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the Parc-nature du Bois-de-l’Île-Bizard, 2115 chemin du Bord-du-Lac

    Lake Deux-Montagnes freezes in winter, but under this layer of ice, life goes on. Come and meet a GUEPE educator-naturalist who will present you at a kiosk the mysteries of aquatic life in winter. Through a game and surprising observations, you will discover how ice and cold influence the inhabitants of the lake.

    Make an appointment near the reception of the Bois-de-l’Île-Bizard Nature Park.
