• GUEPE Nature Outings, Jan 27 & 28

    ON JAN. 27 & 28 – This weekend, the fine folks at GUEPE (Groupe uni des éducateurs et professionels en environnement) want you to join them to learn about nature. Activities may be held in French.

    Jan. 27 – Tales around the fire

    Free activity for all from 13h to 16h at Parc-nature du Bois-de-Liesse, 3555 rue Douglas-B.-Floreani, H4S 1Y6

    Around the fire, come and listen to tales that feature animals living in nature parks and southern Quebec. You will be able to see and touch objects related to these animals, such as furs, skulls or footprints. The educator-naturalist of GUEPE will be available between the tales to answer your questions about the nature around us.

    Go to the reception area of the Champs de Bois-de-Liesse Nature Park.

    Jan. 27 – Ready, not ready – I’m wintering

    Low-cost activity from 18h45 to 21h at Parc-nature du Bois-de-Liesse, 3555 rue Douglas-B.-Floreani, H4S 1Y6

    How do animals manage to keep warm during the winter? A GUEPE educator-naturalist will take you on a hike to discuss with you the insulation and shelters they use. Then discover the other strategies of wintering animals. A fun game will challenge your family.

    Free activity without registration from 12h to 16h at Parc-nature de la Pointe-aux-Prairies, 12300 boulevard Gouin Est, H1C 1B8

    How do animals manage to keep warm all winter long? Nature is full of natural insulation that animals use, but man can also adapt to his needs. Come discover these excellent insulators and why they are so effective.
