    ON JAN. 27 – Laurentian Snowshoe & Winter Nature Hike

    The winter nature program will be the following:

    -Snowshoe Hike to Tamaracouta Falls (hike time each way, about half an hour, but we’ll be stopping along the route to have a look at tracks, trees and other winter wildlife adaptations).

    -Winter Survival Program (humans and animals), with snow shelter building.

    -Departure Time From Montreal – 9AM (Westmount Park United Church, Montreal for those carpooling from the city). Arrival at Tamaracouta around 10 AM. Register with camp ranger. Get snowshoes. Everyone brings their own lunch, beverages and snacks, which we’ll eat on the hike. Return snowshoes to ranger. Leave Tamaracouta by 4pm.

    – Cost: $2.00 per person (camp access fee)
    $8.00 per person (snowshoe rental, if required)
    $15 per person (carpool fee, if required)
    We may need some additional volunteer drivers with cars, depending on our carpool needs.

    -Age Appropriate- Roughly 10 yrs and over. Family friendly program.

    -Emphasis added on warm clothing…esp. snowsuits, socks, mitts, scarves and hats, as temperatures and other weather conditions may vary in the Laurentians. Water bottles, too.

    -Maximum Attendance: 20-25 persons.
