• GUEPE Nature Outings, Feb. 10 & 11

    ON FEB. 10 & 11 – This weekend, the fine folks at GUEPE (Groupe uni des éducateurs et professionels en environnement) want you to join them to learn about nature. Activities may be held in French.

    Feb. 10 – The Buds

    Free activity for all from 13h to 16h at Parc-nature du Bois-de-Liesse, 3555 rue Douglas-B.-Floreani, H4S 1Y6

    To identify trees, we can observe the leaves, the bark, but also the buds. Discover through the life cycle of trees, where buds come from and how they develop. Each tree species has characteristic buds that tell us a lot about the biodiversity of hardwoods in the forest around us. A GUEPE educator-naturalist will introduce you to several branches, all unique. Can you recognize them?

    Go to the reception area of the Champs de Bois-de-Liesse Nature Park.

    Feb. 10 – Owl? An Owl!

    Low-cost activity from 18h45 to 21h at Parc-nature du Bois-de-Liesse, 3555 rue Douglas-B.-Floreani, H4S 1Y6

    Go in search of the owls and owls that live in the nature park! During a night hike, a GUEPE educator-naturalist will accompany you to try to observe them in this wonderful natural environment.

    Feb. 11 – Winter Menus

    Free activity without registration from 12h to 16h at Parc-nature de l’Île-de-la-Visitation, 2425 boulevard Gouin Est, Montréal, H2B 1X7

    How can animals eat well when the ground is covered with snow and the bodies of water are frozen? A GUEPE educator-naturalist will answer this question by explaining to you the change of diets that animals undergo when food resources decrease.

    Meet near the reception of the nature park of Île-de-la-Visitation.
